Biography/Resume:
Assistant Professor
Research in the Affinati lab focuses on central nervous system control of glucose and energy homeostasis. Using genetic mouse models, molecular neuroscience techniques, single nucleus RNA-sequencing and whole animal physiology, we seek to understand how specific hypothalamic neuronal populations integrate environmental and internal cues to regulate metabolic physiology and how dysregulation of these systems contributes to diabetes and obesity.
