Biography/Resume:

Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Research Assistant Professor, Michigan Neuroscience Institute, Medical School

My research interest is in understanding the neurobiology of psychiatric morbidity after critical illness. More than 30% of ICU survivors develop significant symptoms of anxiety, depression, and/or PTSD, much of it new-onset, which persists for years after discharge from the intensive care unit. Alongside my clinical activities including patient care and clinical research, the goal of my basic research activity has been to develop tools to study this problem in rodents.
