Biography/Resume: 

We utilize biochemical and biophysical methods to study protein folding/unfolding, aggregation and amyloid formation. Central to our research is understanding protein homeostasis and developing strategies to alleviate the burden of protein aggregation. Examples of research projects in the Lab include investigating α-synuclein, Amyloid-β, ubiquilin2, and RAN peptides, which accumulate in aggregated state in Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and Frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
