The Neuroscience Graduate Program values opportunities where the neuroscience community can come together and participate in various events throughout the year.
In the fall we have enjoyed welcome receptions and picnics at various locations on campus as well as our most recent Picnic/BBQ at Olson Park in Ann Arbor. Our annual fall retreat has taken place at the Kellogg Biological Station for the past several years and most recently at the Dossin Museum on Belle Isle. From events such as break dancing and tug-of-war to thoughtful panel discussions and engaging talks, it's a great way to start the academic year! See below to view fall retreat schedules and brochures from previous years.
We encourage all of our students to attend the Society for Neuroscience meeting since it is the largest setting for neuroscientists to come together and present research findings, innovative techniques and collaborations, and provides an incredible opportunity to network with scientists from around the world. Travel funds are typically provided for precandidate level students.
In addition to weekly seminars and program events held during admission season, we complete the academic year with our annual Spring Symposium. We have the opportunity to hear from 3-4 leaders in the field of Neuroscience during a day long event held on campus.
